Also known as the Bluespotted Watchman Goby or Yellow Prawn Goby, this colorful bottom-dwelling fish is hardy and loaded with personality! In nature Watchman Gobies are often found living together in burrows with pistol shrimp of the genus Alpheus. The substrate should be sand or fine gravel, and deep enough to allow them to burrow. Set rocks firmly on the bottom to prevent them from settling on your goby if it burrows under them. A secure lid is also required as they are known to jump out of the tank! Yellow Watchmans are peaceful towards other fish but like most gobies, should not be kept with members of their own kind except in mated pairs. They are bottom feeders but will quickly learn to take food from mid-water as well. They should be fed a variety of meat-based foods.
